Treat yourself to a creative getaway on the scenic island of Ærø. Slow down, breathe deeply, and experience the magic and tranquility of working with plants and colors.
At Gravendal, we will explore the beauty of nature right outside our door. You’ll learn to create your own unique botanical prints while enjoying delicious, home cooked meals made from fresh, local ingredients.
What You’ll Learn
FROM PLANT TO PRINT days of hands-on creativity
During your stay, you will be introduced to two botanical printing techniques:
Hapa Zome – Using the natural pigments of plants to create prints on paper and textiles.
Monotype Printing – Working with color and gel printing plates to create beautiful, layered botanical compositions.
We will gather fresh plants from the surrounding landscape and use them in our printing process. By the end of the retreat, you’ll have the skills and confidence to continue exploring these techniques at home.
No prior experience is needed—everyone is welcome!

All is taken care of - the only thing you have to do is jump on the ferry
The Experience Includes
· Workshops, materials, and guided nature experiences
· 2 nights of accommodation at Gravendal
· All meals, prepared from fresh local ingredients
Price per person in shared double room: DKK 2,900
Price per person in single room: DKK 3,900
You can easily leave the car on the mainland. The bus is waiting on the harbour and it stops right in front of Gravendal.
