STAY WITH US

On the first floor of the main house you will find four guest rooms - each one with its own quiet character. Some have space for an extra bed, several look towards the Baltic Sea. What they all share is a carefully curated interior with only what you truly need - nothing more.

As an overnight guest you are invited to enjoy a simple, well-prepared breakfast. We also offer packed lunches, and in the afternoon we are happy to serve coffee with something sweet on the side.

The two parlours of the house are lived-in rooms where meals are served in modest, thoughtful portions. They flow into one another openly, yet each has its own atmosphere - light and sea views shifting with the hours and the seasons. There is always a cosy spot to enjoy a cup of coffee, or a place to sit back and take in the room with a local beer in hand.

The garden is large and a little wild - and where the garden ends, a path begins that leads you straight to the sea.

Breakfast is intentionally simple: unfussy dishes made from good ingredients with plenty of flavour.

A BREAKFAST TO REMEMBER

Do not forget the breakfast. At Gravendal it is not an afterthought but a quiet ritual. Ærø is my pantry. With classical craft and an uncompromising hand I shape a meal that is simple, but never casual.

Nothing is outsourced - everything passes through my hands and is made fresh each morning. Locally roasted coffee, sourdough still warm from the oven, eggs carried in from the neighbour’s hens. It is food made with the same care I would offer to someone I love: not to impress, but to nourish.

Breakfast at Gravendal is also an atmosphere - the slow sound of cups, the light shifting across the room, the permission to sit still and savour what is in front of you. You may take it in the dining room among others, or behind a closed door with room service.

For slow mornings and closed doors, I offer room service for DKK 200.

However you choose to begin the day, the aim is the same: a breakfast you will remember.
